BBF stands for Burger Boy Food-O-Rama. They've all disappeared, but the hamburger chain with the elaborate starburst electric sign, founded by two Columbus men in 1961 to compete with the fast-growing McDonald's chain, was a major success for many years. A total of 48 BBF restaurants opened in Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky. In 1970, they were sold to Borden Inc
