Ralphs fruit Stand, at 2108 Pike St this is before it was Ralphs Super Market 1952 - Ralph Looney the owner and operator of Ralph's Market. In 1948, Ralph started with a produce stand at 2006 Camden Avenue in Parkersburg. Ralph leased it from George Buffington, who owned It and was also Buffington's Market. In 1952 he moved it to the present location at 2108 Pike St. Later in the 1950's he purchased B & R Market next door and put in a complete line of groceries. In 1962 Ralph remodeled and enlarged the store to a super market and named it Ralph's the Supermarket with Personality. The store close and the building demolished a few years ago. the rest is History

This 1972 Picture, Do you Remember Ralph's Super Market 2108 Pike street Parkersburg, the store with personality. and it sure did have personality, there will Never was or Ever be another Store Like Ralph's. Owned by Ralph Loony for many years, open 24 hours a day. you never had to look at a sold by date, because you knew if it was close to out of date, it would not be on the shelf. his Anniversary sales huge savings could not be beat. had his own trucks bring in most of his food plus a huge produce department. also do you remember around Christmas time in the 1950s & 60s his paper sacks would have Christmas Scenery & decorations, Christmas Music playing in the store with speakers in the parking lot for the people in the cars waiting to listen to. just the name Ralph's Super Market brings back so many good memories.
