Below is some information on a true friend, to me and everyone who knew him. I met Doug not long after he joined the Parkersburg Police department in 1975. he use to come out to the car lot all the time. Doug would go with us just about every Wednesday to the Columbus Ohio Auto Action. Doug was a Excellent Police officer and 100% Excellent person. Rest In Piece my Friend

February 27th 2017 marks 41 years of service that Doug McLain has under his belt serving the city of Parkersburg. But Friday, his fellow officers, friends, and family came together to celebrate with him. Officer McClain came to the department in February of 1975, and served as a fleet manager. In that job he's helped take care of the department's 89 vehicles.

A strong desire to serve his community and a love for the people he grew up with led him to work in the department for more than four decades. Friday he was joined by his wife, a representative from Governor Tomblin's office, and his fellow officers. "I like serving people, it's been an honor to serve the people of Parkersburg and work with the people that I do. I really enjoy it. The city of Parkersburg, I've lived here all my life and I wouldn't live anywhere else. I think it's terrific," said McClain
